The Keyence FS-N11P is a standard single-output digital fiber optic amplifier with a PNP open collector output. Its 100 mA maximum load rating supports compatible industrial PLC inputs and control circuits.
Six selectable response modes range from 50 µs in HIGH SPEED mode to 16 ms in MEGA mode. This enables response and sensitivity settings to be selected according to the connected fiber head and application requirements.
The FS-N11P operates from a rated 12 to 24 VDC supply with a ±10% tolerance. Normal power consumption is specified at 950 mW maximum, with additional ECO modes available for lower consumption.
The amplifier uses a red four-element LED light source. Automatic Power Control can be enabled or disabled to suit the sensing application, and the factory default APC setting is OFF.
As an FS-N main unit, the amplifier supports connection of compatible expansion amplifiers, with up to 16 units in total subject to model counting, operating temperature and interference-prevention restrictions.
The FS-N11P uses an integrated cable rather than an M8 connector. Its polycarbonate housing and selectable operating modes make it suitable for installation with compatible fiber heads in industrial automation equipment.

What is the Keyence FS-N11P?
It is a KEYENCE FS-N series digital fiber optic sensor amplifier, configured as a cable-type main unit with one PNP open collector control output.
Is the FS-N11P a PNP or NPN amplifier?
The FS-N11P has a PNP output. The corresponding standard NPN main-unit version is FS-N11N.
What power supply is required?
The rated supply voltage is 12 to 24 VDC ±10%, with a maximum permitted supply ripple of 10% peak-to-peak.
What is the maximum output current?
The FS-N11P has one PNP open collector output rated for a maximum load current of 100 mA and a maximum residual voltage of 1 V.
What response times are available?
The response modes are HIGH SPEED at 50 µs, FINE at 250 µs, TURBO at 500 µs, SUPER at 1 ms, ULTRA at 4 ms and MEGA at 16 ms.
Does the amplifier include a fiber optic sensing head?
The FS-N11P model identifies the amplifier main unit. A compatible fiber optic head should be selected separately unless the seller explicitly includes one.
What is its sensing distance?
The sensing distance depends on the connected fiber optic head, its through-beam or reflective arrangement, the target and the selected amplifier mode. The amplifier alone has no single fixed sensing range.
Does FS-N11P have an M8 connector?
No. The FS-N11P is the cable-type main unit. The FS-N11CP is the corresponding PNP main unit with an M8 connector.
Can the FS-N11P connect to expansion amplifiers?
Yes. Compatible FS-N expansion units may be connected up to a total of 16 units, with two-output units counted as two. Operating temperature and interference restrictions apply.
Does it support interference prevention?
Yes, depending on the response mode. FINE supports four interference-prevention units, and TURBO, SUPER, ULTRA and MEGA support eight. The HIGH SPEED mode does not support this function.
What is Automatic Power Control?
APC is a selectable light-source control function. It can be switched ON or OFF on the FS-N11P and is factory-set to OFF.
What is the difference between FS-N11P and FS-N12P?
The FS-N11P is a PNP main unit, while the FS-N12P is a PNP expansion unit. They have different roles in an FS-N multi-unit configuration.
What is the operating temperature range?
The permitted range is -20 to +55°C with one or two additional units, -20 to +50°C with 3 to 10 additional units, and -20 to +45°C with 11 to 16 additional units.
